First time I met Elvis was at RCA recording studio in Los Angeles. And that was the first rehearsal that I had with him. James Burton called me and I had done an album with James and he remembered me, fortunately. So he called me and asked me if I wanted to do it. And I wasn't an Elvis fan. And I wasn't big on it. I wasn't gonna do it. But I wanted to go down and see what Elvis was like, you know.

I'll Remember You & Elvis In Person FTD December Releases

In December, the Official Elvis Presley Collectors Label, Follow That Dream, will release Elvis In Person a 2 CD Set in the FTD Classic Album Series that includes bonus songs recorded live in Las Vegas in August 1969 plus disc 2 is the complete show from August 22, 1969 (midnight show) and I'll Remember You, a soundboard recording of the dinner show from February 3, 1973. Elvis only sang I'll Remember You at the dinner show and not at the midnight show. Therefore the song is included as a bonus song on the new FTD release. Elvis in great spirits for this show and the sound quality is outstanding on this release.

Over the years, many singers have recorded Jimmy Wakely's creations - including Elvis Presley with I'll Never Let You Go Little Darlin' for Sun Records in 1954. I did a Hollywood gossip column for a fan magazine called Teen Scene. You may remember it. Well, Dad had known Elvis' manager, Col. Tom Parker, and his wife, Marie, for many years. So Dad was able to get me an interview with the great Elvis who had just come back from Germany and had come out to the West Coast to make movies.

On Dec. 4, 1956, Marilyn Evans entered--and exited--rock 'n' roll history. That was the day Elvis Presley stopped by Memphis' Sun Studio and recorded an impromptu session with Johnny Cash, Carl Perkins and Jerry Lee Lewis. Historians have long believed Evans was there too because she was dating Presley then and a voice assumed to be hers appears on the recording. Also, a local newspaper photographer captured an image of the brunet alongside the famous foursome, which the paper dubbed the Million Dollar Quartet.

Kurt Russell began his film career at the age of 10 in an uncredited part as in Elvis Presley's It Happened At The World's Fair. A favorite scene in the movie is when a ten-year-old Kurt Russell is paid by Elvis' character to kick him in the shins. Little did anyone dream that years later the same Kurt Russell would play Elvis in the made for TV move 'Elvis' and receive an Outstanding Lead Actor Emmy nomination for his portrayal.

Beside her was Steve Binder, the producer-director of that long-ago show, originally broadcast as Singer Presents Elvis, but now better known as The '68 Comeback Special. Eighteen minutes into the screening, Priscilla leaned over to Binder and said, 'You saved his life. You saved his career'.

Elvis Presley might not have had one of his hit records if the Poulton family hadn't left England in 1835 to seek a new life in America. Elvis recorded it in August 1956 on a large sound stage without his usual band and backing singers. The second take was declared satisfactory and Love Me Tender was unleashed on a Presley-enthusiastic world. It topped the Billboard chart, remaining number one for five weeks.

They are working on collecting pictures of all the jumpsuits Elvis ever wore on stage to be presented in a 200 page book tiltled 'Fashion For A King'. Authors Tommy Edvardsen and Atle Larsen hope to have the book ready for print early 2009.

Lisa Marie Presley gave birth to twin girls on Tuesday, Oct. 7. The baby girls, have been named Harper Vivienne Ann Lockwood & Finley Aaron Love Lockwood and weighed in at 5 lbs., 15 oz. and 5 lbs., 2 oz. The girls are the first children together for Lisa Marie and husband Michael Lockwood, a musician (Married in Japan January 2006). Lisa Marie, who proudly displayed her baby bump in the September issue of Marie Claire, has a daughter Riley Keough, 19, a model, and Benjamin, 15, with ex-husband Danny Keough.

We have been contacted by Richard Congelosi who worked for Jules Meyers Pontiac, Inc. Richard was hired in Dec, '69 and had an 'orientation' period to serve, in order to get an automobile sales license, officially he worked at the dealership from January 1970 to June 1974. Richard has provided some new information and pictures, including Elvis' car at the car show in 1970, following our story on Elvis' Stutz Blackhawks.

This article is updated with news direct from Carole-Terese Naser. On July 25, 2007, an email arrived on my desk. A family of Six Horses in Maine, USA was slated for slaughter. My attempts to buy them directly failed. Two days later, all Six Horses were sold to a slaughter dealer. Priscilla Presley offered a lifetime home to two of our horses. Priscilla explained that she and Elvis had always kept horses at Graceland.

Elvis Presley had a life-long love affair with motor cars. Beginning in the '50s with Cadillacs, including the Pink Cadillac that he eventually gave to his mother, to a second hand Volkswagen and two BMW 507s in Germany. In the '60s there where more Cadillacs, Ford Lincoln's and a Rolls Royce among many others. In the '70s, again Elvis purchased Cadillacs, a Mercedes-Benz 600, even a Ford T-Bird - but his most prized cars of the 1970s were his Stutz Blackhawk's. Elvis was the first person to own a Stutz Blackhawk, and there can be no doubt his favourite car of the 1970s was his 1973 Stutz Blackhawk III.

Ernst Jorgensen is working on a 30 CD Box Set that will contain all official masters as released during Elvis' life time with another 3 or 4 hours of the most interesting alternate takes, demos, live recordings, home recordings. The set will be USA made and a limited edition to less than 10,000 units. There will be a total restoration of every Elvis master with new digital technology. At this time no release date has been set.
