Though That's The Way It Is eventually became my favorite album, it had to grow on me over the years. Though often overlooked, That's The Way It Is contains some of the best songs and performances of his entire career ... this 2008 re-issue turns out to be a must-have for serious fans ... This is the definitive look at the That's The Way It Is portions of the June 1970 Nashville sessions.

The new Indiana Jones movie 'Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull' contains an Elvis song, 'Hound Dog'. The first 3 movies were set in the 40s. Now, Indiana Jones, played by Harrison Ford, has aged and the movie is set in the 50s. As an aspiring star Harrison Ford says 'I was sent to the studio barber, they sent me with a picture of Elvis Presley and told me to come back with my hair looking like that.

Scotty Moore recalls the day Elvis recorded 'That's All Right' He could have been a Starlite Wrangler. If history had played out differently, Elvis Presley might have been just a singer in a local country & western group. That's how Wrangler guitarist Scotty Moore pictured him when he first heard the unproven vocalist.

Ultimate Gospel; Elvis Presley, Music from the King-to-the-Lord, Enjoyed by an Elvis-fan and Believer. It's just a couple of months ago that I purchased another album of his again. It was Elvis Ultimate Gospel. This was released in 2004. It's said that 'To sing once is to pray twice'. Elvis did that and more with his incredible voice. I believe this selection of Gospel music including revival rock, solemn hymns and traditional church numbers is an example of the gifts God gives to particular people in this world. Elvis had the gift to sing. Thankfully it is shared with us on albums such as Ultimate Gospel.

A twister brought national attention to Tupelo, Miss., long before its favorite son, Elvis Aron Presley, wiggled his way to fame on the Ed Sullivan Show.
Is The Trouble With Girls Elvis' most underrated movie?

For reasons I cannot entirely fathom, I have been increasingly drawn, in the past year, to The Trouble With Girls on DVD. One of Elvis' late, neglected movies - released in the U.S. on a double bill with a cheesy horror flick called The Green Slime - it was shot when his hopes of being the next James Dean had been virtually extinguished. Yet the King seems more animated than usual on celluloid - certainly more engaged than he is, in, say Paradise Hawaiian Style - and utterly at home in this small town period piece.

Brilliant, sincere, touching could all be used to describe this two part documentary and no more would need to be said but then again the purpose of a review is to give the reader an in-depth description of what is being reviewed. This two part documentary, narrated by Sander Vanocur, is definitely a labor of love and the sincerity of all involved shines through time and time again.

Review : Suspicious Minds : The Memphis 69 Anthology CD

In all but a few, minor matters, I find this release extremely satisfying. It is very nice to have all this material gathered in one release and as the sound is excellent, the packing is almost flawless and you get a whole slew of interesting bonus tracks who could ask for more? This is Elvis at an absolute peak, and Elvis- vise or even music-vise it doesn't come any better.
